Ormopterum tuberosum E. Nasir, sp. nov.

Plantae c. 75 cm altae glabratae, radice tuberosa; tuber c. 5 cm longum. Basis caulis fibrosa. Folia scaberula radicalia tripinnatisecta, caulinis reductis. Radii 5-8, 1-5 cm longi. Calyx dentibus obsoletis. Petala alba. Fructus oblongus, 2.5-3 cm longus, costis suberosis transversaliter plicatis; valleculae univittatae sed circa seminem vittis parvis numerosis; commissura bivittata; albumen ad interiorem planum.

Plants c. 75 cm tall, glabrous. Roots tuberous; tuber c. 5 cm long. Stem base fibrous. Leaves radical and cauline, scabrid; radical leaves tripinnatisect; cauline leaves reduced. Involucre of 4-7 minute, white margined bracts. Rays 5-8, glabrous, unequal, 1-5 cm long. Involucel of 5-8 white margined, lanceolate to oval bractlets, shorter than the umbellet. Calyx teeth obsolete. Petals white, ovate, acute. Fruit oblong, 2.5-3 mm long; stylopodium shortly conical; styles thick, capitate, divaricate; vittae minute, numerous around the dorsal and the lateral sides of the seed; furrows 1-vittate; commissure 2-vittate. Endosperm plane on the inner side.

Type: Baluchistan, Hanna, M.A. Siddiqi & Y. Nasir 3472 (holo.—RAW).

Distribution: Baluchistan in W. Pakistan.

This species differs from 0. turcomanicum from C. Asia in the shape and the size of the fruit. It also has many minute resin canals around the seed.
