Allium lilacinum Royle ex Regel
Bulb ovoid, 2-3 cm long, outer coats membranous-scarious, reddish-brown. Scape 20-40 cm tall, base covered with leaf bases. Leaves 1-3, linear, 1-2 mm broad, grooved, not fistular. Umbel hemispherical, 2-3 cm across. Tepals oval, 6-8 mm long, reddish, acute. Filaments longer than the tepals, inner with 2 teeth at the base of each. Style filiform, exserted.
Type: Described from Western Himalayas.
Distribution: Afghanistan, Himalayas in India and Pakistan.
Confined to the northern regions of our area.
