Pituranthos subgen. Eriocycla (Lindl.) C.B. Clarke
Perennial, pubescent. Leaves radical and cauline; segments linear to ovate. Umbels terminal and lateral. Involucre and involucel of linear bracts and bract-lets. Rays 2-10, unequal, pubescent. Calyx teeth minute or obsolete. Petals white or yellowish-white. Ovary densely pubescent; styles short or long, suberect to deflexed. Fruit elliptic to ovoid, slightly laterally compressed; ridges thin; furrows 1-vittate; commissure 2-vittate. Inner seed face plane to slightly concave.
A genus of about 8 species in the temperate and alpine regions extending from N. Iran to W. China.
