Dr. Boufford: My research interests are on the vascular plants of temperate to subtropical Asia, their patterns of distribution and how they relate to the plants of North America. I am on the editorial boards of several flora projects, including the new English language Flora of Japan, the Flora of China, Flora of Taiwan (2nd ed.), the Flora of Korea, and the Flora of North America. Locally, Ray Angelo of the New England Botanical Club and I are producing an annotated atlas of the New England flora. Providing information for biologists over the Internet from resources in the Harvard Herbaria, particularly from type specimens and the Gray Herbarium Index, and on the associated authority files with those databases, is also one of my main concerns.
